CRPF organises medical camp in Handwara

Kupwara, Jun 11: A free health check-up camp was organised by 92 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in collaboration with the Health Department at Government Upper Primary School Sarmarg Handwara, during which medicines were distributed among the locals.

CRPF in a statement said, "Continuing its commitment to the wellness of civilians, the 92 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Health Department, successfully organised a free medical camp under the Civic Action Programme. The camp, held in Sarmarg, PP Zalchaldhara, Handwara, was conducted under the guidance of Gyanendra Verma, IG, Kashmir Ops Sector, and Rajender Singh Rawat, DIG North Kashmir Operational Range, Baramulla".

"The camp saw a large turnout of needy residents from the area, who availed themselves of the free healthcare services provided and received valuable information on the prevention and symptoms of various diseases. A dedicated team of six Medical Officers conducted free medical check-ups for approximately 310 civilians and distributed free medicines," reads the statement.

"The main objective of the camp was to reach out to the underserved population in the area, offering essential health services and raising awareness about the importance of health maintenance. Ashfaq Ahmad Mir son of J&K Police Shaheed Nazir Ahmad Mir of Sarmarg inaugurated the Civic Action Programme in the presence of Naresh Kumar, Commandant of the 92 Battalion. Commandant urged the local population to engage in regular physical exercise, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and uphold good hygiene practices. He also highlighted the role of the CRPF in fostering a positive relationship between the local community and the force," it said.

"Locals expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the CRPF for organising the medical camp, marking it as the first significant outreach by the force in the area. Prominent residents from the locality appreciated the CRPF's efforts in organising such an impactful event, which has significantly contributed to the wellbeing of the community".

"The success of this medical camp underscores the CRPF's dedication to the health and wellness of the people, further strengthening the bond between the locals and the force," reads the statement further.
