CRPF organises free medical camp at Digdool

Ramban, Nov 17: The 84th Bn of CRPF organised a day-long free medical camp at village Digdool under its Civic Action Programme (CAP).

More than 200 villagers were examined and given free medicines on Sunday. The camp was inaugurated by Commandant N, Ranbir Singh, in the presence of other senior CRPF officers and prominent villagers.

The camp was attended by 200 needy villagers, including elderly persons, women and children. During the camp, free ECG and blood sugar tests were also conducted.

The participants' patients were examined by Maj Dr Anu Gorke and Captain Dr Manish Rundla. The locals were provided free medical treatment and medicines during the camp.

Speaking on occasion, the commandant, N Ranbir Singh, stated that CRPF is the largest paramilitary force in the country, with nearly 250 battalions. Since CRPF is entrusted with the responsibilities of internal security of the large and diverse country, India, it is deployed across all three major conflict theatres, viz, J&K, LWE region and NE. CRPF, since its rising in 1939, has played an instrumental role in nation-building and safeguarding the Unity and Integrity of the nation, he added. He said the CRP, 84, battalion is securing a stretch of more than 47 kms of NH 44, which is the major lifeline to the Kashmir valley.

Besides rendering its services of securing the Nation, CRPF also carries out a social outreach program to augment its connection with the local populace. It is with this objective that 84 Bn CRPF, under the aegis of Jammu Sector CRPF, is organizing the program at Government High School Digdool, as the people in the area do not have easy access to good healthcare facilities.

He also highlighted the various social outreach programs undertaken by CRPF all over the country to establish better connections between the Force and the local populace.

A member of civil society, Gurjeet Sing, expressed his gratitude, on behalf of the people of Digdol and adjoining villages, to 84 Bn CRP, for organizing the free medical camp in the Digdol area.
