CRPF bus catches fire on highway
Ramban, June 13: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) bus, carrying security personnel, caught fire at Battery Chamsa area of Ramban on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Thursday.
The bus was part of a CRPF convoy heading towards Srinagar when this mishap occurred.
Police sources said as the driver of the vehicle noticed smoke emitting out of the engine he stopped the bus alongside the road. All security men travelling in the bus were de-boarded from the vehicle. The fire was brought under control with the help of a fire extinguisher kept in the vehicle.
No one was injured and all security persons travelling on the bus are safe. SHO Ramban Inspector Vijay Kotwal said no one was injured in the incident. He said the incident occurred due to some mechanical fault. SHO added this was a minor incident.
