Critically ill patient airlifted from CHC Padum Zanskar to Leh
Leh, Mar 26: In a swift and coordinated effort, a critically ill labour patient from CHC Padum, Zanskar, was airlifted to Leh on Wednesday for advanced medical treatment.
The timely evacuation was made possible through the joint efforts of the Zanskar administration, district administration, and the Army.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Zanskar, Romil Singh Donk, immediately submitted a requisition for the helicopter to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kargil, who promptly forwarded it to the Civil Aviation Department for approval.
Within hours, the necessary clearances were obtained, and the patient was successfully airlifted to Leh, ensuring urgent medical intervention.
This evacuation highlights the commitment of the administration to providing critical healthcare services even in the most remote and challenging terrains like Zanskar.
Locals expressed gratitude to the DC Kargil, SDM, Civil Aviation Department, Army, and medical staff for their swift response in saving a precious life.
