Criminal detained under PSA in Rajouri: Police
Rajouri, July 29: Police in Rajouri district of Pir Panjal region Monday detained a hardcore criminal under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for his repeated involvement in unlawful activities, posing a threat to peace and order.
A team of Police officials of Police Station Rajouri arrested the accused who has been lodged at Rajouri District Jail, Police said.
A detention order was issued by the competent authority, District Magistrate Rajouri, based on a detailed report submitted by District Police Office Rajouri.
The accused Muhammad Aslam alias Qari, son of Ali Muhammad is a resident of Khoriwali, Darhal but was presently putting up at Argi, Dalhori area of Rajouri.
The accused was earlier booked in a criminal case under FIR No 23/2012 of Police Station Thanamandi under Sections 13 and 17 of the UAPA besides 107 and 110 of CRPC.
“Despite being booked and put out of circulation for his inimical acts, the accused was still not mending his ways and was continuously involved in unlawful acts and posing a serious threat to peace and order,” Police said.
Over this, a detained dossier was prepared by District Police Office Rajouri and submitted before the competent authority, District Magistrate Rajouri, who has issued an order for his detention under the PSA.
