Crime Branch Kashmir conducts raids in Awantipora, Kulgam in job fraud case
Srinagar, Oct 8: The Special Crime Wing Srinagar (Crime Branch Kashmir) on Wednesday carried out searches at multiple locations in Awantipora and Kulgam districts as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged cases of job fraud and cheating.
According to officials, the searches are being conducted in connection with FIR No. 06/2025 U/S 420, 468, 471 IPC and FIR No. 07/2025 U/S 420, 468, 471 RPC, both registered at the Special Crime Wing, Srinagar. The cases pertain to allegations of fraudulent job offers and cheating by the accused persons.
Raids are currently underway at the residential premises of Shakeel Ahmad Makroo, resident of Awantipora, Pulwama, and Farooq Ahmad Thokar, resident of Sehpora, Kulgam, officials said.
The searches are being conducted under search warrants issued by a competent court, in the presence of Executive Magistrates and with the assistance of local police, officials added.
