Jammu, Dec 9: The Crime Branch (CB) has filed three separate charge-sheets in three cases against the eight accused for duping complainants of Rs 1.55 Cr on the pretext of selling land in Jammu which was already sold to some other parties.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Crime, Jammu, Benam Tosh, while confirming this, stated, “Challans of case FIR No 40/19 u/s 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC against three accused, case FIR No 45/2024 u/s 420,120-B IPC against two accused and case FIR No 58/2022 u/s 420, 120-B RPC against three accused have been produced in the court of law for judicial determination.”

He said that on the written complaints of the complainant namely Tarsem Singh Chib, ex Havildar of Army, resident of Preet Nagar, Jammu, complainant Pankaj Sharma, who is serving in Army, resident of Marh Jammu and complainant Sanjay Choudhary, resident of Shakti Nagar, Jammu, three separate cases were registered in Crime Branch on the allegations of criminal conspiracy, cheating and frauds on the pretext of providing land at different places in Jammu which was already sold to other parties.

“The Crime Branch has completed investigations in all the three cases and produced three separate challans in the court of law for judicial determination. All eight accused against whom charge-sheets have been filed belong to district Jammu,” SSP said.

He said that the Crime Branch collected documentary as well as oral evidence besides obtaining expert opinion from Forensic Science Laboratory and applied scientific-aid to investigation and proved the cases against the accused who had committed frauds with the complainants and had collected huge amount from them thereby causing wrongful gain to themselves and significant loss to the complainants. Hence the charge-sheets, professionally prepared, were submitted to the court of law, SSP said.
