Jammu, Oct 2: A high-stakes cricket match unfolded today at Vimal Vidyalaya School in Akalpur, Jammu, serving a dual purpose: thrilling spectators and tackling the menace of drug abuse.
The Youth Fellowship Jammu and Kashmir, in partnership with Nirmal Mata Church, Akalpur, organised this event under the powerful theme "Say No to Drugs."
The face-off between Christian Warriors and Akalpur Sultans drew a packed crowd of community members, local dignitaries, and cricket fanatics. In a nail-biting contest, Christian Warriors clinched victory, earning thunderous applause from the spectators.
Rev. Fr. Kuriakose and Rev. Fr. Johnson Mathalay, as chief guests, delivered hard-hitting messages on the critical importance of drug-free living. The event was further graced by Pastor Paul Augustine, Dr Philip John, Henry Don, Arun Nayar, Dr Aksa Roa, Walter Mattoo, Arun John, Thomas Khokhar, Amit Sotra, and Anil Gill.
