ADGP, while responding to media queries in an interaction here, said, “Searches have been conducted in over 50 locations in different districts of Jammu region in the past five days or so. To dismantle the terror support system, all possible actions viz., registration of cases, arrests, attachment of properties, invoking Public Safety Act (PSA) are being taken.”

“In connection with cases registered regarding recent terror attacks in Jammu zone, massive searches were conducted in all districts across the region to dismantle the Over Ground Work (OGW) support system and at several places, many people were called for questioning as well in this connection,” ADGP said.

“Besides, as a part of our campaign to target this OGW network, we resorted to attachment of properties. On this account, we attached properties of seven such individuals in Kishtwar, presently operating from Pakistan or PoK. Action against them will continue. Similarly, searches too will continue. All-out efforts are underway to annihilate the support structure (eco-system) of terrorism and terrorists. We are going full-throttle against them,” he said.

In response to a question as to whether the people called for questioning or detained were involved in recent terror attacks in the Jammu region, Jain said that it was a matter of investigation, which was still underway. “Once investigation establishes their involvement based on evidence, legal action will be taken against all those who would be involved or would have collaborated in terror attacks,” ADGP said.

Whether some women OGWs too have been called for questioning or detained, responding to this query, Jain said, “So far, many people have been called for questioning. Investigation is underway. The process of identification for property attachment is also going on. This will go on in an unrelenting manner.”

“So far, one person Firdaus from Bhaderwah in Doda has been arrested, others have been called for questioning. More arrests are likely,” he said. With regard to a question about the deployment of an NSG component in Jammu, ADGP said that the deployment of specialised forces helped them a lot.

“A component of NSG has been deployed here. We are capable and alert to take on any challenge,” he said.
