Cousin arrested for killing Bandipora man over family dispute: Police
Bandipora, Feb 19: A man was killed in a scuffle with his cousin following a family dispute in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, police said Monday.
The incident occurred on Sunday in Mir Mohalla Hajin, where the cousin assaulted the 38-year-old victim with a wooden log, according to local sources.
The victim, identified as Ghulam Mohuiddin Parray, was rushed to the JVC hospital in Srinagar and then shifted to SKIMS Soura, where he died of his injuries on Monday morning.
SHO Hajin confirmed to Greater Kashmir that they have registered a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and arrested the accused on Sunday.
The accused, who is around 27 years old, and the victim are married with children. A police official said the investigation was ongoing and more details would be revealed soon.
