Counting of votes | Security arrangements tightened in Rajouri, Poonch districts
Rajouri, June 2: Security arrangements have been tightened in Rajouri and Poonch districts ahead of the counting of votes for Lok Sabha elections.
Officials said that a detailed security plan has been devised and will be implemented on the day of counting of votes.
Officials said that District Police Offices (DPOs) of both Rajouri and Poonch districts, i.e. SSP Rajouri and SSP Poonch, have devised this security plan that include other CAPFs.
The plan will be implemented on the day of counting to ensure no law and order problem erupts during and after counting of votes and declaration of results.
They further said that the counting of votes for all seven assembly constituencies of Rajouri and Poonch districts, that fall under Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary seat, will take place at Rajouri Government PG College. The counting center at the college will be a prohibited zone with restricted entry only for those permitted by election authorities.
Besides, they said, restriction will also be imposed around the examination center.
Earlier, on Saturday, DIG Rajouri Poonch range Tejinder Singh reviewed the arrangements for counting to ensure fool proof security arrangements.
