Counter Intelligence Kashmir announces reward for information on Pakistan-based LeT commander

Srinagar, Aug 24:  Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday announced a reward against who the CIK said is a Pakistan based LeT commander.

Quoting an official handout, news agency GNS reported that a Pakistan based terrorist commander/handler, Sumama alias Babar alias Illyas, resident of Pakistan is involved in a case FIR no.02/2024 U/S 13, 38, 39, 40 UA(P) Act, 120-B IPC of P/S CI Kashmir.

The handler is involved in radicalising, motivation, and recruiting the potential youth of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and making them join the ranks of terrorists, the handout said.

It said that he uses social media, and encrypted messaging platforms to use Kashmiris as "couriers for raising and passing on funds to different Terrorist organizations for carrying out terrorist acts in the valley."

The CIK in the handout has asked people to share any information regarding the commander/handler which will lead to his arrest. The informer would be given Rs Three-lakh as a reward even as their identity would be kept secret, the CIK said.

The person may share the information on CIK's phone number or at their address, the handout reads.
