Jammu, Nov 13: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra Wednesday exhorted the leaders of the party's frontal organisations to counter, what he alleged, “BJP’s divisive, misleading narrative” using “modern tools and methodologies.”

He also asked them to “offer truthful, inclusive alternative to masses” to strengthen the base at the ground level.

Karra was chairing an important meeting of the frontal organisations of the Congress Party.

JKPCC President emphasised the importance of fostering a deep commitment and conviction to the Congress ideology in order to effectively counter the BJP's misleading and divisive narratives. He alleged, “BJP, as a well-oiled machine of false propaganda, poses a significant challenge, but with a collective and scientific approach, the Congress Party can reach out to the masses and offer a truthful, inclusive alternative.”

After attentively listening to the suggestions from the Chairpersons of all cells, Karra shared strategic insights on how the party could utilise modern tools and methodologies to “counter BJP’s falsehoods” and strengthen its presence at the grassroots level.

Earlier, the meeting focussed on enhancing the grassroots strength of these organisations, critical in raising awareness and mobilising support across various communities, castes and sections of society.

During the meeting, leaders from various Congress cells presented valuable suggestions aimed at fortifying the party’s outreach. “These frontal organisations play a pivotal role in educating and informing the public about the policies and vision of the Congress Party, particularly in challenging the misinformation campaigns being propagated by rival political parties especially BJP,” it was pointed out.

At the end, Karra reminded, “Tomorrow marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, celebrated across the nation as Children’s Day. The Congress Party has always upheld Nehru’s ideals and principles, which form the very foundation of our democracy.”

He said, “The forces aligned with the BJP are constantly working to dismantle Nehruvian ideals and undermine the inclusive, secular vision that Nehru stood for.”

“It is our responsibility,” Karra stated, “to resist these regressive efforts and to keep Nehru’s vision alive, not only as a tribute to his legacy but for the future of our democracy itself.” He affirmed, “Protecting these principles, which Nehru dedicated his life to, is a duty the Congress Party proudly upholds.”

The participants in the meeting exchanged ideas and reaffirmed the commitment of Congress to “fight misinformation, strengthen its base, and work tirelessly for the betterment of the people.”
