Jammu, Nov 8: Police have arrested a Constable and his two wives with heroin, cash and 22 mobile phones from their residence at Janipur in Jammu outskirts.

“A team from Janipur Police Station, with a clear stance of “zero tolerance” to drugs abuse, raided at the house of a Police Constable namely Parwaiz Khan, resident of Azmatabad of Thannamandi in Rajouri, at present Gujjar Mohalla, Janipur on November 6, 2024 and recovered approximately 33 grams of heroin (Chitaa) like narcotics, 22 mobile phones, weighing machine, Rs 25640, foil papers and other paraphernalia used in making small bits of Chitta or heroin for further sale to innocent youth of the area for gaining undue profits from sale of narcotics,” a Police Spokesperson said.

“Police also arrested his two wives Nargis Bhat and Parveen Akhtar and narcotics were recovered from their possession. Both Nargis Bhat and Parveen Akhtar were assisting him in making bits and further selling them to their clients in the local area,” spokesperson said.

In this regard, a case FIR no 128/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29/27A NDPS Act was registered and investigation was in full swing.

“The arrested constable is posted in the Crime wing and has been placed under suspension with immediate effect. Police are also doing his financial investigation as he has acquired two houses at Janipur and accumulated huge property. Police are also in process to attach his illegitimate properties which are proceeds of narcotics,” spokesperson said.

“Parwaiz Khan’s arrest has proved that JKP is duty bound to save the innocent youth of J&K from the menace of drug abuse with a zero tolerance to peddlers who are doing this immoral trade which has resulted in many youth’s death due to overdose,” Police spokesperson added.
