‘Cooperate with admin to ensure regular power supply’
Srinagar, Nov 3: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri Friday appealed to people to cooperate with the administration to ensure regular power supply.
An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that the divisional commissioner appealed to people to cooperate with the administration in ensuring regular power supply as per the published schedule.
During a meeting, he also directed the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to encourage people against the use of crude electric devices.
Bidhuri enjoined upon the DCs to sensitise people about the disadvantages of the usage of crude electronic appliances.
He said that the use of crude electric devices by unscrupulous people was causing a huge loss of electricity which also led to interruption in regular power supply.
The divisional commissioner said that appropriate action should be taken against misuse of electricity, hooking, and power theft.
He said that to protect transformers from damage and costly gadgets at the receiving stations, a campaign should be started to educate people about the heavy cost of unethical power consumption.
Bidhuri also reviewed the completion of various projects under different schemes, plans, and projects in all districts and impressed upon DCs to achieve given targets for this financial year.
He instructed the DCs to expedite the work at tourist spots to keep these places functional during the winter as a huge number of visitors flock to these destinations.
The divisional commissioner emphasised the DCs to focus on deliverables and quality disposal of grievances in their respective districts.
He directed the DCs to make strenuous efforts to increase the number of drug-free panchayats.
Bidhuri instructed them to engage Numberdars and Chowkidars in programmes, activities, and NashaMukhat Bharat campaigns.
