New Delhi, July 26: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Friday invited the industry leaders, people, and all stakeholders to explore the immense possibilities present in Jammu and Kashmir and contribute to J&K’s growth journey.

Inaugurating the second edition of ‘J&K Sambhaav Utsav’ organised by Resident Commission Jammu Kashmir at New Delhi, the LG shared the efforts of the J&K administration towards the empowerment of the people of J&K, especially the youth, women, farmers, artisans and craftspeople.

In his address, LG Sinha commended the unique initiative of J&K’s Resident Commission office, Delhi and all the associated departments to connect people of the national capital and other parts of the country with J&K's ageless cultural and artistic heritage, creative tradition and transformation, taking place in diverse sectors.

“Sambhaav Utsav 2.0, includes ‘Sambhaav Manthan Satra’ - a series of thematic sessions, specially designed to highlight the immense potential of J&K in key areas such as tourism, cultural heritage, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and the startup ecosystem,” he said.

The LG said the exchange of ideas and knowledge would also provide a viable roadmap to address the challenges and explore the emerging opportunities in different sectors.

“The series of sessions on Jammu Kashmir will also foster a close collaboration between J&K government and industry leaders, youth, media, J&K diaspora, and other key stakeholders,” he said.

LG Sinha reiterated the commitment of the J&K administration to provide an opportunity for artisans and entrepreneurs to connect with global buyers and exporters, through endeavours like Sambhaav Ustav.

At the inaugural ceremony, he highlighted J&K’s transformation and historic growth trajectory, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The LG said the fast-paced development in the past few years and the extraordinary accomplishments in various sectors are a testimony to our strong resolve towards the holistic development of J&K.

“We are also witnessing the revival of J&K's cultural identity, artistic traditions, and the emergence of J&K as a most preferred destination for tourists, filmmakers, and investors across the world,” he said.

LG Sinha visited the exhibition gallery and also felicitated the winners of different competitions organized on diverse themes highlighting the rich cultural heritage and development of J&K.

Sambhaav Utsav, through a series of activities, provides a unique opportunity for people to experience the vibrant culture, cuisine, and craftsmanship of J&K.

The 5-day celebration would showcase the distinct tradition of Handicraft and Handloom of J&K famous for intricate designs, marvellous embroidery, magical motifs, and subtle shades.

The initiative is also providing an integrated platform for artists, authors, craftspeople, Women Self Help Groups, and entrepreneurs to present the different facets of J&K to the larger audience.

Former Union Minister and former Member of Parliament, Karan Singh; Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo; Principal Resident Commissioner, Rashmi Singh; and Principal Secretary, Culture Department, Suresh Kumar Gupta were present.

Member of Parliament, Mian Altaf Ahmad representatives of business and trade associations, artisans, entrepreneurs, artists and people from all walks of life were also present on the occasion.
