Congress will fight J-K Assembly elections tooth and nail, says former JPKCC chief
Srinagar, Sep 05: The former Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, Vikar Rasool Wani Thursday said that the people of J&K "have a deep affection for Rahul Gandhi, given the stand he took in the last five-years for the people."
Wani said his party's focus will remain on retrieving the erstwhile state's Statehood, protection of rights to jobs and land, and power projects. He didn't specify the focus about the power projects.
The contestant from J-K's Banihal said, he believes that Congress will give a tight fight to opponents in the elections expected to take place in three phases in the region after a gap of around a decade.
Wani said that they "will leave no stone unturned and ensure those snatched the rights of J&K people have no place in the government," reported news agency KNS.
While commending the senior Congress leader and the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi for "advocating the rights of people," Wani said that Rahul's Bharat Jodo Yatra is an evidence of love showered on him by the people."
"People of all age groups participated and expressed their love towards the leader as they believe that Congress party has the manifesto in which people of all faiths can live, prosper and develop together,” Wani said.
