Congress revamping organisational structure to strengthen youth leadership: AICC observer

Jammu, Nov 26: AICC observer for Sangthan Srijan Abhiyan (Structural Reformation Mission), Jammu Rural, Mohan Markam, here on Wednesday, said the Congress party is in the process of revamping the party district organisational structure by infusing functional, committed, and young leadership to strengthen the Indian National Congress.

Markam, who is a former minister and ex-president of PCC Chhattisgarh, was talking to media persons here at PCC HQ Jammu on the sidelines of the Sangthan Srijan Abhiyan.

He said that as per the AICC decision, efforts were being made in a more transparent way to bring people, committed to the party ideology, democracy and the Constitution of India, to the District Congress Committee leadership.

Markam said he would be visiting each assembly constituency in the Jammu rural district and meeting the party cadre and members of civil society.

“Any person interested in becoming part of DCC can get the application form,” he said. Markam said that the party would give priority to youth, people from marginalised society, the oppressed class, and women to head the party. “Besides, the AICC has decided to give more powers to the DCCs,” he said.
