Congress, like minded parties will form govt: Karra

Jammu, Aug 20: The new JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra today said Congress and like minded parties will form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a press release, he was addressing a function to welcome him on his arrival here. Senior party leaders and workers were present at the function.

“Congress will defeat communal and divisive forces with like minded parties  to bring the people out of the present political unrest and hardships. Assembly  elections are being held  in J&K after after 10 years without restoration of the statehood. This is a big  betrayal by the BJP with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Congress and likeminded parties will form the next government  and BJP will face defeat because of its failures on all fronts,” Karra said.

With regard to questions  asked by media persons about National Conference’s promise to restore Article 370 and 35-A, in its manifesto, JKPCC president said that his party (Congress) would stick to the Congress Working Committee (CWC) resolution passed a day after its (Article 370’s) abrogation on August 5, 2019, disapproving the unconstitutional and illegal manner in which it was repealed.

Karra  stated that Rahul Gandhi  along with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge are arriving here tomorrow and Srinagar to interact with the party workers and send out a strong message of unity and brotherhood.
