Congress holds protest against suspension of MPs

Srinagar, Dec 22: Congress today held a protest against suspension of 141 MPs and demanded their immediate reinstatement.

According to a press release, Congress leaders and workers from Srinagar assembled at party office here early today and held the protest. They termed the move as a blatant violation of parliamentary rules. “They started marching towards M A Road, but heavy contingent of police pushed them back and closed the main gate of party headquarters,” the press release said.

They agitating Congress leaders, PCC Office bearers, DCC Presidents frontal organisations expressed solidarity with suspended MPs.” They expressed their anguish over the suppression and oppression bythe government , which does not want the genuine voices to be heard in the Parliament. They resolved to fight for safeguarding democratic rights of every individual,” the press release said.

The protest was organised by District Congress Committee Srinagar led by DCC President Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan and other senior leaders.
