Confirm participation in 2024 tournament, DFA Srinagar's final call to Premier Division Clubs
Srinagar, Feb 2: The District Football Association (DFA) Srinagar has issued an urgent and final notification to all Premier Division clubs, asking them to confirm their participation in the remaining matches of the Premier Division Football Tournament 2024.
In a press release issued, a meeting of DFA Srinagar and the Jammu & Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) was held on February 1 at TRC Synthetic Turf, where officials discussed the completion of the tournament, which had been postponed due to the participation of several players in the Santosh Trophy 2024.
According to the release, the association had initially agreed to defer the tournament at the request of club managers, with the understanding that matches would resume once the players returned.
However, in a subsequent meeting on January 25 at Polo Ground Srinagar, none of the club representatives who had requested the postponement were present.
“In light of this, DFA Srinagar has now given clubs one final opportunity to confirm their participation through WhatsApp.
The association has expressed its readiness to organise the pending matches and has warned that if clubs fail to respond, they cannot later blame DFA Srinagar for the non-completion of the league,” reads the statement.
Clubs have been urged to treat the matter as highly urgent.
