Condolences pour in for bereaved Kaloo, Mir families
Srinagar, Aug 10: Condolence continued to pour in for bereaved Kaloo and Mir families on the demise of Naseema Akhtar, sister of of Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, Editor The Mirror Of Kashmir, Dr Farooq Ahmad Kaloo, Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Editor Greater Kashmir, and mother of Mir Aijaz Ahmad, Editor Kashmir Canvas, who passed away on Friday evening.
She passed away on Friday, August 8, after a prolonged illness at SKIMS Soura. On the second day of her demise, various political, social, and religious organisations condoled the demise and prayed for courage to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss.
Member of Parliament and senior National Conference leader Mian Altaf visited the bereaved family at Zabarwan Colony, Hyderpora. Altaf expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He prayed for peace for the departed soul and extended condolences to the bereaved family members.
Senior NC leaders and legislators, including Hasnain Masoodi, Ali Muhammad Sagar, Sajjad Shaheen, and Salman Sagar, also visited the bereaved family and extended condolences. Former minister and senior Apni Party leader Ghulam Hassan Mir also visited the bereaved family
Senior PDP leaders Naeem Akhtar, Mehboob Beg, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Waheed Para, Iqbal Tramboo, besides Zuhaib Mir, visited the bereaved family and extended condolences Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo and other family members.
Former Chief Justice of J&K High Court Justice (Retd) Magray also visited the bereaved family and extended his condolences.
President, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Javid Ahmad Tenga, has expressed deep grief over the demise.
In a condolence message, Tenga conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family in this moment of sorrow. He said the passing away of a loved one leaves a void that is difficult to fill and prayed for courage and strength for the family to bear this irreparable loss.
Tenga recalled the contributions of the Kaloo family to journalism in Jammu and Kashmir, noting that their commitment to public service and truth has always been appreciated by the business community and society at large. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and conveyed his solidarity with Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, his family, and relatives.
Prominent businessmen Shakeel Qalandar, Muhammad Yusuf Mir also extended condolences to the bereaved family.
A delegation of Shaher-e-Khaas Traders Alliance led by its chairman, Nazir Ahmad Shah visited the bereaved family and extended condolences to Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, and Dr Farooq Kaloo. Shah prayed for the highest place in Janaat to the deceased and courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
All J&K +2 Lecturers’ Association expressed profound grief on the demise of Naseema Akhter. The deceased was also the mother-in-law of Tarannum Saleem, Principal BHSS Gurguri Mohalla, Srinagar, and the mother of the sister-in-law of the association’s vice president Tehseena Maqbool.
“In the condolence messages, the leadership and the cadre members across the length and breadth conveyed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family telephonically and official WhatsApp groups and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. The members also prayed for patience and courage to the family members to bear the irreparable loss,” the All J&K +2 Lecturers’ Association said in a statement.
President Mansoor Ahmad, on behalf of the lecturers’ fraternity, also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family. A delegation of the association comprising Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Dr Mir Nazim, and Mohammad Shafi today visited their residence and offered condolences on behalf of the lecturers’ fraternity.
In a statement, Gawah Express Editor Dr. Shagufta Khalidi also condoled the demise and extended condolences to Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo. Besides representatives of various trade, travel, educational, and religious bodies visited the bereaved family to extend condolences.
Fateha Khawani will be held on August 12, Tuesday at 10:30 am at the bereaved family’s ancestral graveyard near Jamia Masjid, Hyderpora, followed by a condolence meeting at their residence at Zabarwan Colony, Hyderpora.
