‘Complete construction of PHC Maharaj Gunj’

Srinagar, May 22:   Traders of Shaher-e-Khaas have demanded completion of Public Health Centre Maharaj Gunj saying people of Downtown face problems in absence of healthcare facility.

Chairman of Shaher-e-Khaas Traders Alliance Nazir Ahmad Shah said due to delay in completion of the PHC building, the medical facility functions from makeshift rooms in a park at Maharaj Gunj.

He said in 2018, the PHC was shifted to nearby public park as the heritage PHC building was demolished. “We apprised Dr Abid Rashid Shah Administrative Secretary Health and Medical Education that due to delay in completion of the PHC building despite passing of over six years, people of Downown face immense problems to get timely healthcare facilities. Dr Abid assured to look into our demand,” Shah added.
