Committee to monitor implementation of ‘Namo Drone Didi scheme’ in J&K
Jammu, May 20: A 19-member committee will implement and monitor the "Namo Drone Didi" scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per its terms of reference, the committee will select appropriate clusters for drone usage and members of the women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) for drone pilot and drone assistant training.
It has been tasked to assess district-wise drone usage, availability and existing gaps and identify the future requirements.
The committee will comprise Administrative Secretary, Agriculture Production Department as its chairman while Administrative Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department; Administrative Secretary, Cooperatives Department; Vice Chancellor SKUAST, Kashmir and Jammu; Registrar, Cooperatives; Director Agriculture, Kashmir and Jammu; Director Horticulture, Kashmir and Jammu; Director Extension, SKUAST-Kashmir and Jammu; a representative from Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India (nominated by the concerned ministry); a representative from Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India (to be nominated by the concerned ministry); a representative from Ministry of Fertilizer, Government of India (to be nominated by the concerned ministry); convenor UTLBC; Chief General Manager, NABARD and State Manager of Lead Fertilizer Company (IPL)will be its members.
MD, J&K Rural Livelihood Mission will be its member secretary.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of Union Territory Level Committee (UTLC), comprising these officials for effective implementation and monitoring of 'Namo Drone Didi Scheme', in the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir,” read GAD order.
The committee will provide and ensure business to selected women SHGs in coordination with the Lead Fertilizer Companies (LFCs) and pesticide companies etc. It will select progressive women SHGs under DAY-NRLM in the Union Territory in the identified clusters for providing drones.
