Committee formed to monitor performance of Govt advocates, prosecutors

Jammu, May 23: A 5-member committee will monitor the performance of government advocates in the High Court of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and the prosecutors in various trial courts.

The panel constituted will have Principal Secretary, Home Department as its chairman while Special DG, CID, J&K; Director General Prosecution, J&K; Secretary, Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs and IGP, Hqrs, PHQ, J&K will be its members. Besides reviewing the performance of the government advocates as well as the prosecuting officers, the committee will also suggest remedial measures wherever required.
