Committed to address regional, local concerns: Er Rashid

Kupwara, Sep 25: Member of Parliament (MP) and Chairman Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) Er Rashid today said that he and his party are committed to address regional and local concerns.

He was addressing the people during an election campaign in the border town Karnah in Kupwara district.

Er Rashid highlighted the local infrastructure needs, particularly the long-standing demand for the construction of the Sadhna Tunnel.

While expressing disappointment over previous governments’ failure to deliver on this crucial project he assured the people of Karnah that he will continue advocating for it. “ I express my gratitude to the people for their support in the recent parliamentary elections,” AIP Chief said.

He called for improved diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan. Rashid said it was high time for both countries to settle the issue for the larger interest and prolonged peace in the region.

Er Rashid argued that resolution would bring much-needed peace and stability to the conflict-torn region. He criticised the current status quo, which he said only perpetuates violence and hostility.
