Commendable environmental initiatives taken by PM Modi : MP Khatana

Srinagar, July 22: Senior BJP leader and MP (Rajya Sabha) Er Gulam Ali Khatana has applauded the environmental initiatives taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to a press note, he was addressing the annual award ceremony of the Global Human Rights Trust (GHRT) here.

As the chief guest, MP Khatana lauded the GHRT’s initiatives and emphasised the urgent need to tackle environmental issues in Jammu and Kashmir. He made a compelling call for a complete ban on cosmetic, electronic, medicinal, plastic, and other types of waste at tourist destinations across the region. “Every citizen has a duty to keep their surroundings clean,” he asserted, underscoring the importance of individual responsibility in environmental conservation.

Khatana highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), describing it as a testament to the PM’s vision for a cleaner, sustainable future. He stressed the necessity for a robust waste disposal mechanism and condemned the harmful practice of indiscriminate garbage dumping. “Being superior creatures in the universe, it is the duty of every human being to keep our city, state, and country clean and green,” he stated, urging the audience to embrace proactive environmental stewardship.
