A delegation from the area said that in the absence of repairs, the road has developed potholes. “Several residents, especially school-going children, frequently suffer injuries after stumbling on the dilapidated road,” they said.

They said the problem is severe during the rains when the whole road is submerged. “In the absence of a drainage system, there is waterlogging after few hours of rains. Due to this, we cannot venture out of our homes. Our lives have become miserable in the absence of a drainage system,” they rued.

“Why are we being deprived of the benefits of the Smart City Project. While roads in our neighboring localities have been repaired and even a drainage system constructed, our locality has been left on the developmental front. We are craving for basic facilities,” they added.

The residents appealed to MLA Hazratbal to look into the matter and expedite the construction of the drainage system and repairs of the road.
