In an official communication to the Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar, Muhamad Araf Khan, the Director of Finance, J&K, stated, "The Hon'ble Chief Minister is pleased to sanction Rs 1.70 crore from the J&K Relief Fund as financial assistance for the fire-affected victims of Mulwarwan, Kishtwar."

The order added that the sanctioned amount was transferred via NEFT on October 22, 2024, to the official account of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kishtwar, for disbursement among the 85 families, with each receiving Rs 2 lakh.

The fire victims have welcomed the financial package but are seeking additional assistance. "We are grateful to the Chief Minister for the immediate financial aid, but we expect more support," said Ghulam Qadir, one of the victims.

Omar Abdullah, during his visit to the victims, has assured them that he will push for more relief from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.

Property worth crores was reduced to rubble in the fire.

With the only road connecting Warwan to the rest of the region, the Marwa-Warwan-Margan Top road, set to close soon due to heavy snowfall, the area will be isolated for up to six months.

This leaves families with the challenging task of rebuilding their homes before winter.
