CM Omar travels on Vande Bharat train

Jammu, Jun 19: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday reached Jammu while enjoying the ride of newly inaugurated Vande Bharat Express up to Katra from Srinagar. National Conference (NC) president and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah and Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani besides others accompanied CM Omar.

“Time to head to Jammu # VandeBharat # vandebharat express # traintravel,” the Chief Minister himself posted it on his personal ‘X’ handle, with a collage of his own pics inside the train; scenic splendour outside and a video while enjoying the train ride. From Katra, they drove to Jammu in vehicles. They however did not interact with the media. According to officials, the Chief Minister and others boarded the train for Katra from Nowgam Railway Station.

Vande Bharat trains from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar and back were flagged off by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6, 2025 while dedicating Udhampur-Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) to the nation. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was part of the inaugural event.

For Dr Farooq Abdullah, this was the second Vande Bharat ride within a fortnight.
