In 2008 too, he had made a similar promise to construct a home in Ganderbal but it didn’t happen later.

However, this time the CM is showing seriousness and people too are hopeful that they would get easy access to their representative.

Omar made his first public speech in the district after assuming office of the Chief Minister while laying foundation stone for a vital Paribal-Tankanwari bridge in Shallabugh area of Ganderbal on Thursday.

“I express my gratitude to the people of Ganderbal for choosing me and I reiterate that I will not let my people down and will work for the development of Ganderbal and resolve long standing issues of my constituency,” he said after laying a foundation stone for the vital bridge in Shallabugh area here which would connect the area with Srinagar and provide relief to the people.

“I should have come here before but I didn’t want to come empty handed and today this is a small gift for the people here, adding that I also had decided that my first speech and foundation for any project should be in my constituency Ganderbal,” the CM said.
