On the occasion, the representatives of these groups flagged several issues confronting them and the public as well as society.

CM Omar said that a gap had emerged between the people and the government in recent years, but expressed his commitment to ending it.

He emphasised that bridging the gap between the people and the administration would be his priority.

“Our administration’s approach will be people-friendly. We have entered the civil secretariat with a positive mindset, focused on delivering the best for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” the CM. “Democratic governments are preferred all over India for this very reason, and we will work tirelessly to bring people closer to the government and its institutions.”

Responding to the issue of drug abuse, he said that civil society members and religious leaders have a great responsibility and role to play and save future generations from this menace.
