CM Omar Abdullah visits SKIMS to inquire into health of civilians injured in Ganderbal terror attack

Srinagar, Oct 21: The chief minister J&K Omar Abdullah Monday visited SKIMS Soura to inquire about the health of civilians injured in the Gagangeer Ganderbal terror attack.

At around 4:30 PM, Omar Abdullah visited SKIMS Soura.

A team of doctors briefed the chief minister on the health condition of the injured and the medical procedures being followed.

“I visited SKIMS in Srinagar to personally assess the well-being of construction workers who were injured in a recent militant attack in Gagangir, Ganderbal district. These workers, crucial to an important infrastructure project, were viciously targeted by militants, resulting in severe injuries. I engaged with medical staff to ensure that the injured individuals were receiving the highest quality care possible,” Omar Abdullah expressed.

He said, “My thoughts and prayers are with all those who were harmed, and I stand in solidarity with their families during this difficult time. I have instructed district officials and hospital authorities to provide unwavering support to the injured workers and their loved ones. It is imperative that we not only offer immediate medical attention but also extend long-term assistance to aid in the recovery process following this traumatic event”.

The chief minister J&K further said, “The injured are receiving excellent treatment at SKIMS. I personally spoke with each of the injured individuals and conveyed my unwavering support for them during this difficult time. The government is committed to providing all necessary assistance to ensure their recovery”.

On Sunday evening, terrorists attacked laborers and staff working on an under-construction tunnel in Gagangeer, located in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

The attack left seven people dead and five others injured. The victims included employees from Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Jammu, as well as a safety manager and a mechanical manager. A doctor, who was also among the victims, was a resident of Budgam in central Kashmir. The five injured are receiving treatment at SKIMS Hospital in Srinagar, and their condition is reported to be stable. (With inputs from KINS)
