CM Omar Abdullah visits DH Ganderbal to assess preparedness
Ganderbal, Dec 28: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah paid a visit to the District Hospital Ganderbal on Saturday to assess the hospital’s preparedness in providing healthcare services during the ongoing winter season. He also visited the Deputy Commissioner's office this afternoon.
The visit comes in the wake of heavy snowfall that has affected daily life across the Kashmir Valley.
During his visit, Omar Abdullah as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) interacted with hospital staff, patients, and their attendants to gain insight into the challenges faced in delivering healthcare under severe weather conditions.
He emphasized the importance of ensuring uninterrupted medical services during winter, a time when harsh conditions often strain healthcare facilities.
The Chief Minister was keen to learn about the availability of essential medicines, heating arrangements, and the status of medical equipment at the hospital.
He also reviewed the hospital’s emergency preparedness to deal with situations arising from the snowfall, including transportation of patients and timely medical intervention.
Locals expressed their appreciation for Omar Abdullah’s concern and proactive approach towards the welfare of Ganderbal residents.
The hospital administration reassured the public that all necessary measures are being implemented to improve service delivery during the winter months.
