CM Omar Abdullah condemns killing of migrant worker in Shopian
Srinagar, Oct 19: The Chief Minister J&K UT Omar Abdullah Saturday condemned the killing of a non-local labourer who was shot dead by unidentified militants in Wandana Malhora area of Shopian district yesterday.
Terming the killing “abhorrent”, he said such acts must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.
He also extended his condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
“Very sorry to hear about the death of Ashok Chouhan at the hands of militants in South Kashmir. These attacks are abhorrent & must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. I send my condolences to the family & loved ones of the deceased,” CM Omar Abdullah said in a post on his X-handle.
The victim was hailing from Banka district of Bihar.
Senior Police officials had said that Chauhan was shot in the neck, resulting in his on-the-spot death.
