Jammu, Sep 12: J&K Home Department has directed all its officials to clear communications or files in their e-office account, before being relieved from the department on transfer or proceeding on leave, to ensure processing of references well in time.

Instruction in this connection has been issued following observations that the officials keep references or files in their e-office account, even after being transferred or while proceeding on leave, thus delaying or hindering the processing of important issues.

“It has been observed that on being transferred from the department, officials keep references or files in their e-office account which delays their processing and causes inconvenience to the section. Further, failure to transfer or clear references and files from their e-office account, before proceeding on leave, results in a prolonged holdup, hindering the timely processing of critical issues,” Principal Secretary Home, Chandraker Bharti noted.

Accordingly, he asked all officials of the Home Department to clear communications or files in their e-office account before being relieved from the Home Department on transfer, so that the references can be processed well in time.

“Further, FA and CAO, Home Department is advised to issue LPC or Service Book to the officials under transfer, only after ensuring that he or she has cleared all the files or communications pending in his or her e-office account and his or her e-office account has been deleted from the Home Department,” Bharti directed.

He has instructed all officials to ensure also that while on leave, “references and files are transferred to the next superior so that they are not stuck in their account, inordinately.”
