According to the parents, the student, identified as Noman ended his life by committing suicide after facing harassment in the school.

The President of the Muhalla Committee said the student had made tattoos on his body which was objected to by the school.

"The parents said their kid was being asked to be given a discharge certificate for imprinting tattoos on body parts. But I think there was a need to counsel the student instead of giving him a discharge certificate,î the Mohalla president said.

He said after the intervention of elders, the student was allowed to enter the school premises.

One of the relatives of the student said Noman had imprinted tattoos on his arm and other parts for which they had submitted an affidavit that he would get the tattoos removed and would not make new ones.

"The school management agreed and allowed Noman to attend school. But after some time we again received a call from school for the same issue as Noman being a kid, had some new tattoos," the female relative of the student said in a video.

Recently, after the family was called to school, the management, according to the family, clearly said that there was no scope of giving any leniency to the kid as he had repeated the "mistake" of making fresh tattoos.

"So Noman came home and he shared about the humiliation with his friends which we came to know after he ended his life," the relative said. The family demanded justice and sought action against the school.

The chairman of Kashmir Harvard school however dismissed the allegations and said the student was absent for six months and attended school for only exams.

"He had tattoos on his body for which we tried to counsel him and informed his parents as well," the chairman of the school told Greater Kashmir.

Following the death of a class 8th student, the concerned Police station has taken action and recorded statements of different individuals as well.

"My statement was also taken. We spent the whole day at the concerned Police station. The case is being investigated," the chairman of the school said.
