Class 10th exams begin in soft zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 17: The annual regular examination for class 10th students commenced today across all the soft zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

The exam is being conducted by the JK Board of School Education (BOSE).

As per the official figures, as many as 114413 students were registered for the class 10th annual regular examination. The JKBOSE has set up 1313 exam centers for students to write their exams.

This year, the class 10th to 12th board examinations were scheduled in February month as the government restored the previous November session in schools.

The annual examination for junior classes up to 9th standard was held in the November-December month of 2024.

As per the date sheet, the exam for class 12th students in soft zone areas commenced from February 15 while the annual exam for class 11th students in soft zone areas is scheduled from February 18.

The education department has put in place all the requisite arrangements for the smooth conduct of the exams.

As the students were approaching their exam centers they were upbeat and mothers were seen showering love on their children. Most mothers were seen accompanying their kids to the exam centers.

"We planned our winter schedule as per the will of my kid. We did not move out for vacations, unlike previous winters. We did not disturb the preparation schedule of my kid," said Rubeena Akhtar, a mother accompanying her son to the exam centre in Baramulla.

Other parents shared similar views about their support and encouragement towards their kids.

"My son will write his exam today but I was all along with him during his preparation schedule. Not only the students, but parents equally remained occupied with the preparation schedule of the kids," said Anjum, another parent.

The timing of class 10th examination has been fixed as 1:30 pm by JKBOSE.

As the class 10th examination commenced today, the private coaching centers found it as the best spot to advertise for their brand by distributing pamphlets to the students and at some places, parents were also seen receiving the pamphlets of the coaching centers.

The marketing executives of a few private coaching centers were seen waiting for the students outside the examination centre to sell their brand. The executives were seen giving best wishes to the students while giving pamphlets of their coaching centre.
