Class 10th exam today in soft zone areas of J&K
Srinagar, Feb 16: As many as 114413 students are scheduled to write their class 10th annual regular examination tomorrow. The examination will be conducted by the JK Board of School Education (BOSEO) in soft zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the official figures, 132992 students have registered for the class 10th examination out of which 114413 students fall in soft zones while 18579 students fall in hard zones as well. The JKBOSE has set up 1553 exam centres-- 1313 in soft zones and 240 in hard zone areas of J&K.
This year, the class 10th to 12th board examinations were scheduled in February month as the government restored the previous November session in schools. The annual examination for junior classes up to 9th standard was held in November-December month of 2024 while the government announced that the annual board examination for class 10th to 12th will be scheduled from mid-February.
As per the date sheet, the examination for class 12th students in soft zone areas commence from February 15 while the annual exam for class 11th students in soft zone areas is scheduled from February 18 of 2025. In class 11th examination as many as 109137 students will appear in exams in soft zones areas in 1004 examination centres.
As already reported, the education minister earlier convened a high level meeting with the officers of the School Education Department (SED) and Deputy Commissioners to review the arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of the exams. The education minister directed the officers of SED and DCs to ensure that students do not face any inconvenience enroute their examination centres while their admit cards should be treated as passes during movement of convoy.
The minister stressed for proper coordination and synergy between the departments and to provide a conducive atmosphere to the students during the exam. The government has appointed magistrates and also set up flying squads for proper monitoring of the exam besides ensuring that only students and exam staff are allowed inside the exam centres.
