Srinagar, Mar 9: Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh Saturday inaugurated e-Seva Kendra No 2 and No 3 and a single window system for certified copies while a total of 51,330 cases were settled awarding Rs 6.63 crore as settlement amount during the first National Lok Adalat of the year 2024.

To facilitate the amicable settlement of cases, nine benches were constituted for the National Lok Adalat.

The first bench was presided over by the Presiding Officer, MACT, Court Srinagar, Jeema Bashir and Incharge Additional District and Sessions Judge and 3rd Additional District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Iqbal Ahmad Masoudi as bench member.

The second bench was presided over by Principal Judge Family Court, Srinagar, Masrat Roohi and Judge Small Causes, Srinagar, Tabassum as bench members.

The third bench was presided over by the Fourth Additional District and Sessions Judge, Gowher Majeed Dalal and Sub-Register and JMIC, Srinagar, Adnan Manzoor as bench members.

The fourth bench was presided over by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, Raja Muhammad Tasleem and Municipal Magistrate, Srinagar, Mehreen Mushtaq as Bench Member.

The fifth bench was presided over by Forest Magistrate, Srinagar, Feroz Ahmad Khan and Third Additional Munsiff and JMIC, Srinagar, Moneer Ahmad as bench member.

The sixth bench was presided over by City Judge, Srinagar, Sajad-ur-Rehman and Second Additional Munsiff, Srinagar, Atzaz Ahmad as bench members.

The seventh bench was presided over by Special Mobile Magistrate, Traffic, Srinagar, Mudasar Farooq and Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Srinagar, Raja Arshad Hamid as bench member.

The eighth bench was presided over by City Munsiff Srinagar, Mir Sayeem Qayoom and First Additional Munsiff and JMIC, Srinagar, Shafeeq Ahmad Malik.

The ninth bench was presided over by Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, 13th FC, Pantha Chowk Srinagar, Lubna Sultan, and President Bar Association Pantha Chowk as members.

In addition to these benches, two pre-Lok Adalat benches were also constituted on March 6, 2024, for the settlement of bank recovery cases and traffic challans.

Overall, 52,463 cases were taken up for settlement of which, 51,330 cases were amicably settled and Rs 6,63,39,583 were awarded as a settlement amount.

The Chief Justice also inaugurated e-Seva Kendra No 2 and 3 along with a single window system for issuance of certified copies as part of the third phase of the e-Court project offering people seamless and efficient platforms to access a wide array of legal services from the comfort of their homes.

Commenting on the inauguration, the Chief Justice said, “These initiatives signify our unwavering dedication towards leveraging technology for the betterment of our citizens. By harnessing the power of e-governance, we aim to foster transparency, accessibility, and efficiency within the legal ecosystem.”
