CITU holds protest seeking regularisation of casual workers
Jammu, Nov 26: Activists of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and Samyukt Kissan Morcha Tuesday held a protest demonstration seeking regularisation of various categories of casual workers and implementation of Minimum Wages Act.
Senior CPI(M) leader and MLA M Y Tarigami, who held the protest demonstration in Jammu, said that the protest was being jointly held by the trade unions and Samyukt Kissan Morcha, as a part of a countrywide programme against inflation and exploitation of the poor labour community and farmers. “We want that all promises made to labourers and farmers should be fulfilled,” he said.
Tarigami also demanded that statehood should be restored at the earliest. “This is our demand that the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister should keep their word and restore statehood to J&K at the earliest,” he said.
