CIK detains student for 'instigating people against Centre, glamorizing terrorism'
Srinagar, Nov 13: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) Wednesday detained a student of Lab Science for allegedly posting what the CIK called, "radical propaganda, aimed to instigate common people against the Govt of India."
The student, currently pursuing his master's in science, was identified as Bhat Navidul Ali, son of Ali Mohd Bhat, a resident of Tazipora-Mohammadpora in south Kashmir's Kulgam, said CIK in an official communique.
The spokesperson also said that the student "glamorized terrorism" on his social media handles while being in constant touch with some cyber or virtual entities who are radicalizing and motivating the youth to join militant ranks.
The student, as per CIK, "also consumes the radical content available on the Internet."
He was about to join the militant ranks, said the spokesperson.
They said, a team of CIK apprehended Bhat Navidul Ali for questioning even as Ali's parents and neighbours have been called for counselling.
