CII J&K organises Education Summit, focuses on future-ready learning, collaboration
Srinagar, June 14: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J&K on Saturday organised the CII J&K Education Summit 2025 at SSM College of Engineering, centred around the theme 'Future of Education in J&K.
The summit brought together educationists, industry experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for transforming the education ecosystem of Jammu and Kashmir.
Inaugurating the summit, Dr MA Alim, Chairman of CII J&K, stressed the importance of multi-stakeholder engagement in reforming the region's education system. He underscored the need for collaboration between government, academia, industry, and civil society to build scalable and future-focused solutions. He highlighted CII’s role as a catalyst bridging policy and practice, traditional pedagogy and innovation, as well as education and employability.
Key topics discussed during the summit included Artificial Intelligence in education, enhancing employability skills, increasing women's participation in STEM fields, and the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The summit featured prominent speakers including G.N. War, President of the Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir; Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Siddiqi, Chief Coordinator, NEP Cell, University of Kashmir; Prof. Parvez Ahmad Mir, CEO, CIED, IUST; Viraj Singh, Director, Woodland House School; Faiq Rather, Director, Oxford Presentation School; Dr. Iqra Altaf Gilani and Dr. Janibul Bashir, Assistant Professors at NIT Srinagar; and Dr. Ajaz Malik, Senior Scientist at SKUAST-Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, Iqram Ali Shafiee, Vice Chairman of CII J&K, said the summit would act as a springboard for sustained collaboration, bold thinking, and transformative action in the education sector.
The session was moderated by Haya Qazi, Co-Convenor of the CII J&K Education Panel, who described the summit as the beginning of a journey to improve the education ecosystem in the region through collective efforts.
The event saw active participation from academicians, school principals, university faculty, and research scholars, marking a significant step toward a more dynamic and inclusive educational framework in Jammu and Kashmir.
