Gulmarg, July 2: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J&K Council successfully organised a Membership Roadshow and stakeholder interaction at the scenic Gulmarg Golf Course, aiming to strengthen collaboration for the region’s development.

The event witnessed active participation from key local bodies, including both Pony Associations, Photographer Association, Shopkeepers Association, ATV Association, Snowmobile Association, and the Sumo Association. Farooq Ahmad Shah, MLA from Gulmarg, attended as Chief Guest, while Tariq Naik, CEO of Gulmarg Development Authority, was the Guest of Honour. Both emphasised the importance of inclusive stakeholder engagement to foster sustainable tourism and economic progress. Also present were the Tehsildar, SDM Gulmarg, and Tahir Wani, Assistant Director, Department of Tourism.

In his welcome address, Iqram highlighted CII’s role in facilitating growth and support for Gulmarg's stakeholders. Dr. M A Alim, Chairman of CII J\&K Council, assured the gathering of CII’s continued efforts to address community concerns and organise skill development programmes in the area.

MLA Farooq Shah welcomed CII’s involvement in strengthening Gulmarg’s tourism ecosystem and promised full government support. CEO Tariq Naik echoed the sentiment and pledged departmental assistance for capacity-building initiatives and enhancing the tourist experience.

The roadshow served as a platform for stakeholders to share their challenges and suggestions. Their concerns were received positively, with both Shah and Naik assuring committed follow-up and collaborative problem-solving.
