Srinagar, Mar 22: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J&K team led by Dr. M.A. Alim called on Advisor to Hon'ble Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani today at Jammu at his official residence.

A statement said that Dr. Alim apprised Wani about the issues concerning members of CII J&K and about other initiatives being planned by CII in J&K. Apart from other issues taken up during the meeting, some of the main issues discussed were of Fire and Emergency Department, Skilling and Job Creation for youth of J&K, and the need for new Industrial Policy for J&K.

The special provision to existing industrial unit holders in the new policy was highlighted. Dr. Alim explained to the Advisor that the industrial ecosystem demands a nuanced and strategic approach to address the unique challenges faced by the region. Dr. Alim also raised the issue of sustainability and offered CII's Institutional Help by way of forging close coordination between CII's Centers of Excellences (CoEs) for water, sustainability, Green Building etc. for the overall sustainable development of the Region.

He also suggested that CII should submit a formal proposal for any developmental initiatives proposed in J&K and he will ensure that the same is facilitated by the concerned department.
