CIC operators demand job regularisation, cite 20-year wait despite CM's poll promise
Srinagar, June 10: Common Service Centre (CIC) operators working under the Rural Development Department have appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for immediate regularisation of their services, claiming they have been waiting for the resolution of their employment status for two decades.
The operators, who have completed all required procedural formalities, say their regularisation was specifically mentioned as a priority in the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference election manifesto but remains unaddressed despite the party forming a government.
"We have been patiently waiting for justice for far too long. Despite completing all codal formalities, we continue to suffer with immense pain and miseries for the last 20 years," said a group representative speaking on behalf of the CIC operators.
The employees argue their case represents a legitimate demand that requires immediate attention from the Chief Minister, particularly given the specific electoral commitment made to address their concerns.
CIC operators provide crucial digital services in rural areas under the Rural Development Department's outreach programs, facilitating government service delivery to remote populations across Jammu and Kashmir.
