Chowdhary Talib Hussain files nominations as independent candidate
Rajouri, Sep 5: Gujjar (ST) leader and senior BJP leader, Chowdhary Talib Hussain, who is also a former MP, filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate from Rajouri Assembly constituency.
Chowdhary Talib Hussain was considered as a senior BJP leader in Jammu and Kashmir and he was the first big Muslim face who joined BJP 12 years ago.
He had contested assembly elections from Rajouri assembly constituency on BJP mandate in 2014 but lost.
Chowdhary Talib Hussain was a probable candidate of BJP from Rajouri assembly constituency but the mandate has been given to another party leader after which Talib was annoyed with party leadership.
On Thursday, accompanied by his supporters, Chowdhary Talib Hussain reached DC office Rajouri where he filed nomination papers in the office of Assistant Commissioner Revenue who is the Returning Officer for Rajouri Assembly constituency.
In his media interaction, Chowdhary Talib Hussain welcomed BJP's decision of not giving him the mandate terming it a decision of party but said that the approach of local leadership of party was unfortunate and he was not even consulted once before deciding the mandate.
Talib said that he has always carried forward is political journey on the lines of communal harmony and secularism and will continue doing this.
