Chinar Yuva Baramulla empowers youth, drives job placements
Baramulla, Jan 18: In an endeavour to shape the lives of youth and provide a platform for talented individuals, Chinar Yuva Baramulla jointly run by Indian Army and ONGC CSR, has been making significant strides in empowering the youth of Baramulla.
In a fresh move, around eight girls from different far-off areas of Baramulla have got the placement at TATA Wistron in Bangalore.
All these girls were enrolled at Chinar Yuva Baramulla in the Retails and Hospitality Course. Each course is of three months duration.
“We enrol these students, train them in their course and get them placed in different companies within J&K or outside J&K as well,” an official taking care of Chinar Yuva at Baramulla, told Greater Kashmir.
The initiative of the Chinar Club was started in 2016 through collaboration between the Indian Army, ONGC CSR.
The official said their placement was facilitated by the efforts of the Chinar Yuva Centre Baramulla in collaboration with Aseem Foundation and Needs Manpower Private Limited, Bengaluru.
“The endeavour is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of ONGC, which always helps skilled youth to get job placement in any part of the country,” the official said.
After completion of the crash course at Chinar Yuva Baramulla, the students are now in position to extend financial support to their families.
“This opportunity has changed our lives. We are now able to support our families and stand on our own feet. It is a dream come true for us,” said one of the female students who has got placement at TATA Wistron.
Since its inception, the Chinar Yuva has offered training in various domains such as computers, retail, music, and more, enabling students to become self-reliant and financially independent.
Since its establishment in 2016, the Chinar Club at Dagger Division near District Police Line (DPL) Baramulla has transformed the lives of numerous individuals, driving job placements and showcasing the talent of young boys and girls across various sectors.
The centre has trained dozens of youth in the hospitality and retail sectors, while also honing the talents of aspiring singers and performers through various competitions.
Mohsin Khan, a young boy from the Dangiwacha area of Baramulla district, joined the club to refine his singing skills. After receiving comprehensive training, he emerged victorious in the renowned reality show "Kashmir Got Talent" held during the 2021-2022 season, securing a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
In addition to the significant job placements, several young boys and girls trained at the Chinar Yuva have taken initiative and established their own small units at home which has become a source of their sustainable livelihood.
