Child among 2 dead, 6 injured in Mughal Road mishap
Rajouri, July 12: A nine-years-old child and a woman lost their lives while six other members of the family were injured, a few of them critically, in an accident on the Mughal Road.
Police said that the accident occurred on Friday evening when a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), JK02DJ 5386, on its way from Surankote to Srinagar met an accident at Panar after it fell into a gorge.
Police said that eight persons including five children travelling in this vehicle were injured.
It said all of them were immediately evacuated from the site of the accident by locals and taken to Sub District Hospital Surankote.
Police said that in the hospital, two of the passengers were declared as brought dead and were identified as Ujla Begum, 34, wife of Muhammad Azam and Anees, 9, son of Muhammad Azam of Sokar Gali.
Police said that the other injured were hospitalised and have been referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri with a few of them having multiple injuries.
They include Rabnawaz, 33, son of Ghulam Hussain; Zeenat Nawaz, 5, daughter of Rabnawaz, Muhammad Azam, 38, son of Muhammad Hussain, Iresa, 5, daughter of Muhammad Azam, Aneesa, 8, Aleza, 6, all residents of Darhal Sokar Gali.
