Chess trials held in Doda, young talent felicitated

Bhaderwah, Jun 15: The Bhaderkashi Chess Association District Doda (BCADD), under the aegis of the All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA), conducted the District Doda Chess Trials 2025.

The event, held at Bhaderwah, featured competitive matches across junior and open categories, including U-17, U-19 and senior divisions.

The championship was formally inaugurated by Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Chinta Som Sekhar Sharma.

The trials concluded on the same day with District Development Commissioner (DDC) Harvinder Singh gracing the closing ceremony as the chief guest. He felicitated the winners with medals and trophies and lauded the participants for their competitive spirit.

Izma Fatima secured the first position, followed by Simriti and Virangaina in the Girls U-17 category.

In U-19, Izma Fatima again clinched the top position, with Ojasvi and Simriti claiming the second and third spots, respectively.

In the women’s open category, Arushi Kotwal clinched the top spot, followed by Izma Fatima and Ojasvi.

In the Boys U-17 section, Anish Kotwal claimed first place, while Vidhaan and Yonit stood second and third, while Dheeraj secured first place with Shiv and Samir taking the next two positions in both U-19 and Open Boys categories.
